Some very basic help required

Everything seems to be working now, but HOME is really a buggy application. Sometimes it recognises that a TomTom device is connected, and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes it accepts map activation codes, and sometimes it doesn’t.

I still haven’t cracked the question of installing the full map contents of the DVD onto the local hard drive, and having them recognised by HOME for transfer to the device, but the purchase of a 2Gb SD card has made that pretty much unnecessary. All maps my friend is likely to need are now on the card, with some space to spare, and so HOME will now be used only for backup/restore.

This has been my first experience of using TomTom, and I have to say that I’m not at all impressed with the software, but thanks to everyone for their help.
