TOMTOM 6 ON DELL AXIM X5

Just spent nearly 2 weeks trying to get it working on mine.
Posted a couple of messages on this forum, but didn't find any work arounds.
Finally opted to get a new Ipaq Hx2490 and forget about the Axim.
Been using it today, and it works fine.

Biggles, yes it does.

I gave my old X5 to a friend and he bought and installed a new copy of TT5. Its a bit clunky but does work.

Good question.
I've had TT5 on my X5 for ages now. (It is the 400mhz one though), and had no problems. Only changed this week because TT6 wouldn't run on it.
However, if you just use the 128mb sd card, it will fill up fast and slow TT5 down a lot.
I changed to a 1gb card, and it ran fine, even with loads of extra poi's and favourites. (I made every contact in my address book a favourite to speed up searching for one the TT5 way.)
