When I run TT5 on my Ipaq the little red hand icon appears in the bottom right hand corner but thats as far as it gets. I did a reinstall and still the same problem.
Please help, I really miss my TomTom.
Thanks. |

I do still have it. It's a 1940. I did a hard reset and it's now working again. The only problem now is when I run the 5.21 upgrade all that happens is I get the option to remove or repair Active Sync, if I select repair it completes and then says I need to restart PC. The 5.21 upgrae does not install.
Any ideas? |

Try removing the old version from the ipaq first prior to installing the "update", the update does not require the previous version to be installed, it will simply go onto the device as a full install - after that it should simply work - Mike |

Great, thanks that worked. I had to extract the files from the exe file and run the setup.exe file otherwise all I kept getting was the Active Sync remove/repair option. Do I have to remove any other TomTom items, i.e. Bluetooth etc? Or is is just the TomTom program that gets updated? |

It should update the whole lot, the usual method people have found to work when having trouble with installs is to extract the CAB files from the zipped download (or by running the installer, then getting at the CAB files that way).
Once you have the two CAB files for TTN5,21 you copy them to the PDA (make them read only first, otherwise they disapear in the next step).
Use File Explorer on the PDA to locate the CAB files and tap each one in turn, this will install the application. - Mike |
