After a real battle with Halfords over my buzzing TT500 and them eventually agreeing its faulty and giving a refund I'm in the position where i have £299 on my card to be spent on a new Sat Nav unit.

Now my 500 was fine, but i bought it for the phone bit, which i didnt use as 2 weeks later the company put a hands free in the car, and the europe bit, which it turns out i'll never use.

So now i'm wondering whether it worth me just buying the new TT1 for £190 or get a TT510 for £299?

Seems like the TT1 will perfectly ok and i can save £100.

I only use it for postcodes for clients and the occasional POI.

Is the new TT1 any quicker than the 500/510?

I also note that my 500 had a mount that extended from the windscreen and rested on my dash (alfa 156) and therefore prevented vibration of the screen. However i now see that the mounts are very short and basically just hang off the windscreen. In reality how does this affect the vibration of the unit and its clarity of vision?

What are your views - which one should i get?

depending on the features you need. the TT1 is best, as you stated you nolonger need the handsfree, so thats one feature on the 510 you won't need.. as for the mount, you can look around for third party mounts and see if you can find a suitable one.

Thanks for that. I got my refund today and whilst there i saw the TT1 which looked ok, but the guy mentioned the Garmin 310d with traffic updates free which looked good.

So now i'm really confused!
