(apologies, also posted in Garmin hardware by mistake, mod, please remove post from hardware section!)

Hi, I have owned a 2610 for about 2 years - generally being happy with its performace.

However, recently (and Im up to date with firmware and upto V Ive noticed that the routing it is deciding to give me on my 'regular' journeys has changed. Now, I am sent on occasional bizarre routes, that are definately not 'fastest' route (the setting I always use) - my routing prefs are all 'slidebar to centre' - I have never changed this

Its only a slight deviation, and always gets me A to B in the end but it will (for example) take me off a fairly straight A road and try and get me on a slightly bigger A road (if that makes sense) - whereas previous versions (either previous maps or firmware) would just keep me on the original A road...

Does anyone know if anything changes with routing prefs on Version 8 of the maps, or any of the last couple of firmwares??

I dont use an external aerial (but do have one) - would this make a difference? Usually the accuracy is around 21-25ft (according to the GPS info)

Ive thought of wiping the unit and reinstalling the maps (ie V7) but thought Id check here first to see if anyone else has had similar issues?

Cheers

JW

I cant help much but I did notice in Cornwall last weekend that I had to ignore my 2720 a couple of times because its projected route was to put it bluntly damn stupid . And it was very obvious especially the time that it tried to take me down a cul de sac.
