I had a Mio 269+ which had slovakia and hungary among other eastern european countries. I now have a C710. Can i take the maps from the 269+ DVD and stick them on my C710?

Technically yes. But why do you want to go through the Navigon pain when you can have the much better iGO?

I dont understand what you mean about the navigon.. my old navigator was also a Mio. did they run different softwares (except for the obvious version number difference). Thanks for the help!

The older Mios run MioMap v2 ( Navigon ). The newer run MioMap v3 (iGO).

maps are locked to the SD card. You have to put the SD card into the 710, not copy the maps to the 710.

The maps from V2 (.map extension) and the ones from V3 (.fbl extension) are incompatible, unless you wish to dig into them and alter them somewhat. Thats primarily why they wont work. Try altering the file extension of the V2 maps and watch the result

Courior, you cannot just copy the maps to your sd-card or your flash disc.
The maps are locked because you don't have the correct license.db on your Mio.

I am guessing that you have Western Europe on your Mio.
So you have a lincense.db for Western Europe only.

Thanks, that has been most helpful. Can i copy the licence over from the igo software and then it will work? as the igo software has the same maps that the c710 has plus more.

Thanks

you can use iGO SD cards in the 710. You cannot copy the contents of the SD card over to the flash though. (You can copy it but it won't work)
