Hi Guys,
I may be a dunce of the highest order but despite trawling through all the various menus of my 910 and this forum (no doubt someone will prove me wrong on that front) I cannot seem to disable all the directional speech without also disabling speed camera alerts and/or MP3 volume. Surely this cannot be right? What am I missing? For various reasons I prefer to type in a route even when I know where I'm going but don't always want directions. Cheers in advance. |

You might need to install a silent voice file.
That way you get the POI warnings but no directions. |

As you have a 910 you won't find a greyed out voice unless you delete one first (make sure you have a back-up though).
Also if you are using a computer voice for spoken camera warnings selecting a non computer voice to run silent is not an option.
The easy way out is to set the camera warnings to be active all the time, de-select the "warn only if poi on route" check box for all your camera poi files. Then use "clear route" to make sure you only get poi warnings and mp3 sounds at a decent level. OK this negates the route information, but if you know where you are going you don't need it set to get just warnings and music.
I would like TomTom to make the warn if poi on route a dynamic setting so that it would be active if a route were set, but still warn if no route planned, sadly the software cannot do this - some of the competition can do this and its great in use - Mike |

Cheers. Surprised there is not a mute option for directions I was just checking I'd not missed anything obvious. I like to have a route plugged in incase I want to reroute around traffic. Also for some reason my unit appears to lose the plot (it's position) on a regular basis when no route is planned, something I've not seen during a route.
Many thanks for your help. |
