Ok, here's the story in a nutshell...
I had TT5, and have subscribed to Traffic, and bought the John Cleese voice. My current account on the website says I can't change my device ID (I had an insurance replacement for my O2 Exec in August).
TomTom Navigator 6 isn't an option on the "Change My Device" screen, and I can't change my device ID, as I have said. Consequently, the problem is/was that because TT6 gives me a different device ID to TT5, none of my Plus stuff would work.
I was running Traffic on the free trial "Anonymous" account, and somehow, have managed to get Traffic working (I renamed my CFG file in a hope that I could go back to the Anonymous account, since putting in my correct Plus Account details just got me a message saying that the Plus Services were for a specific device, and not the one I was using - when I attempted to access Traffic, after having renamed the CFG, I got a dialog asking for my plus account details, and since then they have worked).
Has anybody got any more tips on how I might get my John Cleese voice working - I can't download it within TomTom, for some reason it just errors out.
I've been in touch with TomTom support, and they haven't been much use, saying that the TT6 option would be there last week, and saying that I should just be able to download the voice and it would work - I don't think they anticipated the change in device ID that TT5 and TT6 report.
