TOM TOM 6 Northern Ireland maps

I am just wondering if anyone knows if the new Tom Tom 6 has street level maps of NI, my friend had TOM TOM 5 and it only does Belfast but is useless for anywhere else in the country. Another friend has TomTom v2 on a tomtom 1 and it has excellent maps of NI.

I would buy tom tom for my PDA if it had good coverage of NI

i have a TomTom One (V2) and can confirm that it does seem to have full street level coverage of NI and Eire. whether it's accurate or not i am unsure but there's definitely an improvement over TT5 maps on PPC for irish coverage.

sorry it doesn't answer your question - hopefully someone with knowledge or experience of TT6 on PPC can tell you what you need to know!

Thanks mate!

I emailed the wonderful people at TomTom, and they say there will be no street level maps of NI and Eire available for TT6 and their best advice is to buy a TT1 v2.

Oh well, anyone got any good suggestions for decent PDA GPS software that covers NI? I have AA navigator but its a bit annoying!

I think that the TomTom ONE NE GB comes with Tele Atlas v660.1199 maps, which includes Northern Ireland and Eire. Hopefully minion can confirm this!

However, I don't think that TomTom Navigator 6 GB comes with the same maps, I'm not sure whether the map data that comes with TTNav6 actually includes Northern Ireland and Eire or not. Confused

Hopefully somebody with a genuine retailer copy can tell us what map version you get with TTNav 6. Smile

I have just bought TomTom One v2 Europe (cheaper than a new PDA plus upgrade from TT5 to TT6!). It seems to have good street level mapping for NI and Eire. If you want to give me a few test addresses I'll try them out for you

i can confirm that my TT1 v2 map is 'United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland' V660.1199. this is the regional version, ie, the uk & ireland one.

browsing through towns and cities in NI there does seem to be good street level detail covered.

I think the tom tom 1 V2 is probably the best one for me, since it has good coverage of NI and Eire.

Can anyone tell me where the best place is to buy one?
