Looking for fix for the following problem, if possible;-

Ipaq rx3715, BT 308 GPS, TTNav 5.210 withGPS driver v1.20.

Upgraded to above but unable to lock onto and get a signal in the "SHOW GPS STATUS" in TTN5, The bluetooth between PDA and GPS communicating ok.
In TTN "Specify GPS Hardware" yellow/blue disc spinning ok on the following settings. Baub rate = 34800, Bluetooth com port 6, on NMEA Device GPS and also on Other Bluetooth Device.

Thanks

Similar problem to me, and I had a similar set-up.
I know its no help, but after 3 weeks I bought a TomTom One. I think it was the GPS going duff, as everything else worked OK.
I hope the cure is permanent.

Before ditching the GPS unit.

I am assuming it worked OK before the upgrade to TT5.21 Smile

Do you see any signal strength meters in the TT GPS status screen at all?
If so - are they staying grey? Showing any meters means the GPS unit is 'seeing' satellites but may be having difficulties downloading the almanac data it will require to establish a fix.

Leave the unit on - outside with clear view of sky - for as long as possible - it can take a long time to get a lock in the (wrong) circumstances.

Try another bit of s/w. If you don't have any try OZIExplorerCE trial from www.oziexplorer.com and see if it communicates with your GPS - use the default world map - you are only interested in establishing correct communication.

Failing that go back to your working version of TT and see if it still works!

Phil

Managed to get GPS Working with help from Alan on this site. Problem was resolved by changing the signal from NMEA to Serif. Now working ok.

I don't think the spelling is the issue, but could I point out that TTN5 will ONLY work with NMEA data, so you must have switched FROM SiRF to NMEA mode to get this working - Mike
