Sorry for the delay in replying, but other things to do, I have spent so much time on this , her indoors is giving me grief,
Tried all your advise and still problems,
One important thing I have noticed is that
In TT GPS Status screen it will display
IE 6 Sats - strenght say 50% Blue then others grey - Center Sats fairly stable , those towards the edge moving up /down in/out blue
Press Done
TT Main Screen - Displays 3/4 Bars
THEN THE STRENGHT GOES DOWN 3/2/1 OUT=Signal lost in about ten seconds wait a bit longer sometime it come back - sometime it dosnt
Go Back to GPS Status Screen
Sats grey but soon turn blue AGAIN - Signal Strenght INCREASES AND STAYS STABLE ALL THE TIME
So it looks like that the GPS Status screen shows you have a good signal strenght, but when you press done , TT cant use this signal strenght to maintain its postion etc
So I dont know if that helps , but it may be the reason why I keep losing the signal while moving

Thanks everyone for your help and advice, finger crossed, I may have solved it.
I think the problem is in the Great Britian map folder, some of the files must be currupted , I replaced the map with another copy and I am getting a better and more stable signal just need to give it good road test to confirm its OK
If it works OK , will have to buy another copy or has anyone tried TT6 yet, or it not worth upgrading yet ?
