Is there any site with downloadable icons to add to my own POI files?
Only had the 530 a couple of weeks & realised that it's quite easy to make up my own POI files but I would like to have customised icons for them.
In particular Pubs, Night Clubs, Care Homes, Shools, Playgrounds, Factorys, Chip Shops, Lauderettes, Libraries, Doctors... all kinds of local POI.
Why...? Well I'm a Taxi driver & I've noticed that the passengers are facinated by the rolling map, & can't wait for another point that they recognise to come into view.
So I plan to have a detailed POI file for most local landmarks to keep them pacified whilst drunk!
Makes for good tips too! |

Hi
I usually make my own. Keep the size down to about 22 x 22. I use photo editing software that lets me create images. When you have made one save it as a bmp. File. To a folder on your desktop. Then import it as normal.
Regards.

You can search for any suitable image file that you may want to use.
If its a jpeg or whatever you can use Paint to convert it to a .bmp.
If your image is large, there is a natty little bit of software called Avatar Sizer to reduce the image to the right size. Its available at
