Hi all, I have trawled the forums but can't seem to find a definitive answer to this issue which is as follows.....
If I wish to travel to a town in an area that I am unfamiliar with I assume that I should be able go to the "City/Town Centre" function under Destination and enter the town name. Seems reasonable?! Sometimes this works and I can choose the town from a list after typing a few letters of the town name. All OK so far. On other occasions ie other towns when I perform the above exercise the icn 510 tells me that there are no matches?! However if I use the "Address" button under Destination it will usually/sometimes find the town in question??!! ..... But wait there's more! Sometimes I have to know a street name before it will allow me to go find the town on screen?????!! This is the worst of the previous scenarios as obviously if I don't know where the town is then how am I to know what a street name of that town is?! To do that I would have to carry a paper street map and you don't have to be a genius to work out that that defeats the whole purpose of a GPS! Rolling Eyes . I'm hoping that it's just me and that I've missed something fundamental.... please shed some light for me oh knowledgable ones..... Confused

Cheers Smile

My setup is icn510 with V3 maps for Australia.

A similar problem with a 510 was discussed in this thread.

nfortunately, the thread did not offer a solution.

It would seem that there must be a bug with with the 510 software.
