Latest MS Security Updates - No Activesync

Looking for some advise. The latest automatic updates from Microsoft (about 18 Sep 06) appear to have stopped Activesync (4.2) from recognising that my Mitac Mio 350 is connected. I've changed the firewall settings to allow the recommended ports access and this now at least allows me to see the files on the Mio from the PC, although I still can't sync.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is there a fix?

I am still using V3.8.0 build 5004 and the latest updates have had no effect on active sync in either USB or Bluetooth when synchronising with my PC.
