HELLO ALL (NOOB ALERT)

i have d-loaded the speed camera database to my pc . then unzipped it & copied the files to our TomTom One ....i,ve driven about 200 miles today and past many cameras....but i,ve had no warning or icons of any cameras....i,ve set the 'warn when near' in manage POI...
and left the warn on route option off ......
this is what i,ve got showing on my tt1 screen........
turn it on ....go to main menu then click to page 4...theres a picture of a camera and a yellow plus sign (capture POI) written underneath...
i press the camera then go to a screen with loads of diff cameras....gatso/ mobile etc etc ...i then press GATSO ...then theres a screen with loads of speed limits on i then press "say 30 mph"......then in the top right hand corner it said "30mph saved"....then it shows my house with a camera outside Embarassed .....so then i have to go through to manage POI and delete the camera ......and thats where i am at the mo STUCK Evil or Very Mad

ALL I WANT, IS IT TO BING WHEN I GET NEAR A CAMERA :P ....IT CAN BE THAT HARD Confused

HELP PLEASE

MANY THANKS

Hi sazel192,

Firstly don’t panic! We’ll get you up and running.

Secondly are you a current PocketGPSWorld subscriber? You need to be a current PocketGPSWorld subscriber to download the files from this page.

Thirdly, you don’t need to install POI Capture immediately, as it’s for recording the location of new sites. However if you are using the current version of the PocketGPSWorld camera database and you spot a new fixed (not mobile) site then you can use POI Capture to record it. If you are the first to submit a new site then you will get a lifetime subscription to PocketGPSWorld.

There are some guides that should be read (in the following order):

Arrow The beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
This explains about the different camera types and about categories and subcategories, so that you can decide how you want the database on your unit.

Depending on whether you have TomTom Navigator on a Pocket PC or TomTom GO, please read either:

Arrow How to install (camera database) POIs to TomTom Navigator 5.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto a Pocket PC running TomTom Navigator 5.

Arrow How to install (camera database) POIs onto a TomTom GO, Rider, or One.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto your TomTom GO, Rider, or One.

Once you have installed, set up, and used the PocketGPSWorld camera database for a while on your TomTom SatNav system. You may want to share and send in details of cameras yourself. You can do this by using the PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility:

Arrow The PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility.
You do not need the PocketGPSWorld POI Capture utility on your TomTom SatNav system in order to use the PocketGPSWorld camera database. However if you want to send in camera details then POI Capture makes the process of recording cameras much easier on TomTom Navigator and GO (original, 300, 500, and 700). At the moment POI Capture will not work with TomTom Rider, One, and mobile. This is for a technical reason, which we hope, will soon be rectified by TomTom.

The above guides may look lengthy and complicated when first seen. However if you grab a cup of coffee and read each one thoroughly then they should make sense as they have been written in a step-by-step way, for ease of reading.

Regards,

First. You need to copy the matching BMP File with the OV2 File. The orangre/red square is a TT Default Icon.

Second. If you want to see what each camera is you will need the Consolidated Camera File. There are 5 Cameras Files in this and 5 BMP Files for identification.
