|
|
Ive just got a larger 4Gb sc card so that I can put more maps on.
Copied the contents of the old card to a folder on the PV and then copied them all onto the new card via a card reader.
All shows up OK on the PC in Explorer but cant see any files in the folders when I put the card back into the Axim.
Tried copying direct to the Axim through Active sync but still no joy.
Old card still showing all files OK on the Axim.
Have tried another card with a few files and same thing happening so its not the new card at fault. Works fine in adigital camera.
Any ideas please |

I'm not totally sure, as I haven't access to a PDA at the moment, but it might be that you need to re-install the program software onto the Device with the Card in place. _________________ Richard

I had a similar problem recently going from a 512MB SD card to a 2GB SD card on my Toshiba e750. After wrestling with if for a few hours, I determined that, while the Tosh recognized that it had a 2GB card inserted, it would only properly access the first 1GB. Anything that crossed that border would show up in the file explorer, but you couldn't do anything with the files.
The card worked fine in my hx4700.
I think the problem is with the SD drivers, but I don't forsee ever getting a fix for that. It seems that 1GB will forever be the limit in that device. Do you know for certain that that size SD card is supported by the Axim? |

Thanks for the replies.
On further investigation it seems that the AximX5 is a bit iffy at recognising large cards
I have had no problems with a 2gb sd card but it appears that some people cant even get a 1gb to work.
Just tried the 4gb card in the better halfs cheapo Medion PPC from Aldi and it works fine which is a bit strange.
Looks like I will have to upgrade my PPC or steal the Medion |

there is a limit of card sizes on X5 of 2GB as far as I know. Dell said it was 1GB, but I successfully had 2GB SD card and 4GB CF working. I gave to GF in favour of X51v
With this, it is 4GB SD and 8 GB CF
my card reader limit is 2GB
Hope that helps
CF seems more stable _________________ TomTom Go720 v8.320
