Just as a point of interest.. for one who don't understand these things--- how do you get the screen shot of you Tom-Tom on to your computer...
every one seems to be able to do it -- from the postings -- but how...
sorry if this is off topic...

Hi Fibre,
When you use HOME you can see the TomTom screen. When you get the desired screen hit the [Print Screen] button on the keyboard.
Next go into something like Paint and cut around the bit you want (eliminate the rest of the screen dump) and hit Edit | Cut.
Select File | New then paste the cut out image. You should now have just the bit you want to publish.
Select File | Save As and change the 'Save as Type' to JPEG.
Now you need to upload it to the web (possibly your free area that came with your ISP account) using FTP software.
Now type something here and use the IMG option above to point it to where you saved the image on the web.

Or....
On the TomTom itself, create a directory called "screen".
Create an empty file in notepad called "capture" (no extension), and put it in that directory.
Now, even while you are out and about, every time you touch the screen top left, near the zoom in zone (+), it will create a screen capture file, complete with camera shutter sound effect!
You can then download them to the PC at your leisure. |

Connect your 510 via TTHome & it will update the application for you. |

On TTHome there are 3 Applications listed.
Tick the bottom one (6.520) and tell it to instal. |

done that -- put a folder called "Screen" in the TomtomGO --
in that created a text file called "capture" = 0 KB text document..
(this has the extension *.txt and opens with notepad)
unplugged tom -- from computer
started up tom ---
touched the screen near the"+" and all it did was zoom in on the map..
touched a bit lower and go to Main menu screen...
Thought I would try at the Green screen -- tried again -- just brings me back to the map..
Thought I would look so plugged in tom again opened up and Nowt just an empty page??
what have I done wrong..
probably too much thinking - reading this...

Try taking off the ".txt" at the end of your filename. Should work then
It doesn't actually want to be a text file, just notepad is the quickest/easiest way I know to make an empty file. |

You need to upload it to some webspace that you own/have access to (you remember that free 10Megs your ISP gave you?)
Then you link to its address using the "Img" button at the top of the box you type your messages in. |
