Hi
I have just purchased an i3 and so far have found it suits me better than tom tom.Have read about various issues with firmware version 3.1 which at the moment I do not seem to be suffering from are there any downsides to going back to v.2.7 as reguards to features or usability.
Cheers
Andy

if v3.1 is working for you, leave it.....version 2.7 is (in most peoples opinion) more stable but slightly slower on re-calculating than v3.10..remember you can switch from v3.1 to v2.7 and back if you want..

thanks for the quick reply, have just tried out the speed cameras downloaded from pocket gpsworld and found it to be spot on even with a couple of mobile speed cameras located infrequently on a local road nearby. A sat nav and speed camera detector for £125 has got to be the bargain of the year.

Not that I'm one for the spelling lames, you understand - but there's a certain irony in spelling pedant wrong ;-)

Is this why I found the unit pinging down the M4 when clearly there were no fixed speed camereas in sight?

if you had the unit in map view or navigation the icon would have been shown which would have made the camera type visible.

Dispite the small screen i prefer the zoned camera file with the individual icons for all the camera types.

If you're going out of London on the M4, after it widens to 3 lanes and before you get to the Heathrow turnoffs, the limit on that section is 70mph. However, the other carriageway has limits of 60, 50 and 40 in that section, and even though you're on the outbound carriageway, your i3 will still report the positions on the cameras on the opposite side, and since you'll be doing 70mph you'll get bonging for all of them, and there's quite a few!
