Slightly confused. Someone on here says it will run on a Mitac Mio 168, but this is not on the Tomtom website list of approved devices.
Will it work on the MIO 168? I think not, but may be wrong. |

Been given a copy, tried it and confirm it works on an Ipaq 5000 series.
I would view it as a 5.3 rather than a 6.
If you add POIs to the map it does not recognise them, however if you create a POI file within TT and then replace it with the old POI file of the same name that file works. Also the TT created files are in exactly the same format as the original.
Colour Schemes do not appear to be recognised.
The data.chk files are not transferrable between the two for POI warnings. Not sure if they can be edited.
The knocking off of 1m for each time the warning is adjusted has gone.
It appears to send your full PDA details when requesting traffic updates.
Taken it off and reverted to my legal 5.21.
Will I buy it, probably, as I can work around the POI files issue, but only really to get the latest maps. |

I'm puzzled too. When I followed this link given by another poster it showed the Mio 168 and P350 as being supported. But when I access the TomTom web site by typing in a URL, I get a smaller list of supported devices, which does not include the Mios!!!

I have had another fiddle with it and found that the POIs can be recognised but they seem to have to be there before it is run for the first time.
Very odd thing though in that the alert when near POI function displays red pixels as grey in the icon flashing at at the top left of the screen. Other colours appear as expected.
Colour schemes do work but have to be in the navigator\schemes directory.
POI-Warner will work with it but you have to ensure that last word in the directory name of the map folder is "map".
The data.chk file can be edited but the sounds are in slightly different positions.
It still has the annoying turn right then turn left instructions when the turn left is a long way ahead.
I will now definitely buy it when it is officially released but for the meantime back to TT5.21. |

Ahem.... Just a word of caution - please exercise some restrain when discussing what IS pirated software. Also, the versions which have been cracked are the early alpha versions and their functionality and bugs do not truly reflect those of the final release. |

I have just seen one of these cracked versions at work and the one function that I use most on my Ver 5.21 is the navigate to POI which now seems to have been replaced by POI near your location or POI near your destination also the keyboard seems to have dissapeared could anyone confirm whether this will be the same in the final release verion before i go and give TT some of my hard earned cash

Robin | It depends which product you check out. Navigator 6 (with pre-installed SD and BT GPS) or Software&Maps of Western Europe (only DVD).
Because Mio168 does not have BT, it is considered not compatible with the pre-installed SD product, as it comes with a BT GPS you can't use. _________________ GO1005

this is a disappointed release, it should be a free upgrade and should be renamed to V5.21
nothing special at all, still the same routing mistake of version 5 |

I now see why Tomtom is pouring all its recourses into new software for its own Tomtom device . By reading this forum its obvious that there must be thousands of cracked versions of its Tomtom programme out on the streets for PDAs. Cracked versions will be the death of Tomtom for PDA devices.
I think TT6 will be the last we PDA users will see. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

That's exactly what was said about TTN5, that it would be the last one. _________________ Tim |
