Quick Etrex question...

Im thinking about getting the cheapest Etrex...the standard yellow one. Im wanting to use it for car trips, and more importantly ski trips. I downhill ski, and I wanted to figure out my top speed while skiing, and distance traveled. I know that it shows your average speed, but does it save your top speed for a trip? Because I cant really be skiing downhill at high speeds while looking at the GPS to see how fast I get up to, so I was hoping it would save something like that. Thanks.

You sertainly do get a max speed display. I am not sure if it is a max speed of all time or just your current trip. You can of course reset the max speed reading anyway.

If you are looking at the cheapest Etrex, also look at the Geko 201. The Geko is about the same price, but better spec and smaller.

I like everything about the 201 except the battery usage...only 12 hours on 2 AAA's...And I have rechargeable AA so something that used AA's would do me better...but thats really not very important to me...what about the Cobra GPS 100? How does it compare?
