what is the best blue tooth gps receiver

i'm looking for a small however VERY reliable gps bluetooth adaptor

does more satelites mean acturate results?

something with a replaceable battery and a long continuous use battery?

something that can be used in a car and also be used for walking

something compatible with most pda, either pocket pc and Palm OS.

now if i have a pda charging / powered by the car, is there somehow to power the gps bluetooth reciever like a split adaptor for the power or something even simpler than that?

Welcome to the forum, please don't post multiple threads with the same question as it makes tracking answers difficult.

As for a Bluetooth GPS unit make sure you go for SiRF-III equipped units they are much better, and can hang on to a signal far longer than lessor equipped devices when you encounter difficult conditions.

I use a couple of Holux GPSlim236 units, very good IMHO 10 hours (ish) when fully charged, and you can swap the battery out if required, I would also have a look for the new I-Blue unit as you get an incredible 24+ hours from this unit, and it had the option to swap the battery.

The GPS units will work with the PDA's as they use a common protocol for sharing data so I wouldn't wory too much about this issue.

The question re more channels is not really an issue, at any one time you can only ever see 12 satelites from the planets surface, reflections from buildings do complicate this hence more channels on the receiver can improve the reception.

Powering the units is not an issue, various suppliers (Maplins/ Halfords etc) sell duel output cigy socket addaptors so you can power two (or more) devices when required, but with a decent duration on the Bluetooth GPS unit you only need to power the PDA, which ever one you decide upon - Mike
