Strikes me this guy FlickHammer is just a serial ranter (check out his other post-another rant).

Get rid of the Navman if it's so poor and rant on some other forum.

The navman demo I was talking about in the other thread IS fake, what's your point?

It is meant to represent the real-time use of a navman with one view from the car and another view to the navman running ultra silky smooth, I can exit the third turn (turn right on a small roundabout) before my screen updates.

If that's how you expect your navman to work your gonna be very disappointed when it comes through the post, navman clearly use despicable advertising tactics, what you see should be what you get.

Case closed ... Flick Twisted Evil

P.S.

I love my ICN530

If you feel that way then report it to Advertising Standards.
As I said before I don't care how the screen refreshes as I'm watching the road more than the NAVMAN. Confused Exclamation

Hi,
(First Post - please be gentle!)
I've just got an iCN 530 and I'm pretty pleased with it's performance generally.
I have contacted NavMan about my views on what could be improved in their software, and I hope that they take notice, because, as I've said to them, it could turn a good product into a great product.

I think the 25 POI Limit is a problem, Navman UK said 'I don't know about a limit for the POI files because to many POIs would ruin the map view' I replyed to this that people found this a problem, they could limit the POI's, but people should have free choice.

I think the 15mile limit is a problem, but not for the reason other people have stated. I think If you're going for a day out, you generally have a place in mind, rather that consulting the SatNav and finding the closest. ( We're going to Warwick castle soon which is over 100Miles away, I wouldn't dream of asking the SatNav which castle is the closest, I like to know whats available when I go out for the day). I work away alot, and usually in places that I don't know, I've got POI's loaded for Hospitals, Garages, RS's, Maplins, Tesco, Asda, tyre dealers, etc. I very rarely use them, but a while ago, I had a puncture and wanted to get my spare repaired before I came home, my nearest Tyre centre was about 17Miles away, which wouldn't have been picked up on my shiney New NavMan.

I think a standard 'QWERTY' Keyboard for address entry would be better

I think a memorise position function (I know you can do it thought the 2d map, but it's fiddley) and the ability to save the the position into either favorite OR POI would also be nice

I think the ability to Batch download from smart ST Desktop would also be useful.

I've had a general response form Navman UK saying that 'I passed some of your query's through to our marketing team' I don't which ones !

I've also asked if there is a feature request email address(or a forum but apparently they had one of them which has now disappeared), I think that would be a good idea.

On the whole I am very happy with the 530, despite what I class as limitations, and hopefully they can address these small software 'features' and and have a product which is outstanding.

Thanks

Dave
