Adding uk voice and killing your C510e

Hi,

I have copied over both thomas amd philappa voice zips to my c510e now I can't get beyond the starting screen for mio map also contacts crashes when i click on it. It all worked great until I connected via bluetooth.

So I click on contacts I get an error message

An attempt was made to access an unnamed file past its end
then click ok I get

Fatal application error

Application contact.exe has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor

Address: 0000045E

Then if I try to load mio map I get as far as "starting" then nothing



I tried turing it off and on I done several insert a pin reset all to no joy any ideas?

Does anyone have a file listing so I can check to see if I have deleted a file?

to the madhouse.

Have you tried a hard reset using the switch at the bottom of the unit.
I think I read you have to leave it off for a minute or so.
Give that a try and get back to us.

Doh, just remembered.
I had some grief with one of the male voice downloads, can't remember if it was US male or UK male. I ended up deleting them anyway, then after a reset normality was resumed.
Phillipa works OK.

Hi

I will try deleting both and seeing what happens after a hard reset with the on off button and short period for the device to go a way and think about the error of its ways ! :D

If that does not work is is possible to get the c510e back to factory defaults with the install disk? My worry is that during the recopy and delete of the voice file I could have deleted a system file or are they safely kept way from the flash disk?
