Hi I hope someone out there can help

I have been running Tomtom on my c500 for ages no problems what so ever then I decided it would be nice to have a dedicated car kit so bought the THB unit.

Problem is when the C500 is in the car kit I dont get any of the audable instructions coming out of the THB car kit speaker, the phone works ok but no sound from Tomtom.

If I take the C500 out of the car kit then no problems.

Is there a fix or patch that anyone could guide me to.

Yours well frustrated.

Stuche :x

Yip mine does this too.

I have a telemute lead and it still doesn't work. It's a right pain!

I had an exchange of emails with THB about this very subject a few months ago and this is a basic summary of what I found.

When you place the C500 in the THB cradle the jack plug on the cradle is inserted into the phone. This cuts of the phone's internal speaker in the same way as if connecting a headset and routes the phone's audio out to the connected device.

The audio in the THB car kit is not always on. The software in the phone tells the THB car kit to enable the audio when its required e.g. when an incoming call is received or you make a call. The problem is that any software with audio output needs to tell the car kit to switch on/off as required.

THB advised me that there was a software patch for some of the PDA based devices to fix this issue, but to my knowledge this has never been made available for the C500 smartphone.

Not really sure if this is a TomTom or a Microsoft issue because this does not happen with the Nokia phone my friend has. On his, the car radio is muted and the TomTom voice routes through the car kit.
