Everyone is waiting for what the next incarnation of what Navman have to offer both on in the PDA market and dedicated in-car market. One thing Navman were looking to do after they had reached a stable GPS platform was to start adding lots of new features to their products including 3D maps.

Credits to Guybrush for finding this screenshot at Soroban Geeks. The full translated article says the next incarnation of Navman's SmartMap for the iCN620/630 will be released in January 2004. New features include 3D maps, TeleAtlas maps (Not NavTech!), post code management, posting of co-ordinates, a re-worked engine.

I am the one who take the photo. the 5th of November there was the MobilityParty who lots of compagnies presented theirs products.

Navman was here with iCN630 and iCN620 (and the new version on a iCN630). The software is really reactive now (faster than the first version), and the 3D view is nice.

The man of Navman tell me that everybody (who registred) will received 2 CD with the new version (V2) and the new maps (TeleAtlas). Becaus V2 only work with new maps of course. And it should be free (I am very suprised for that point).

Could someone take the time to explain how the software maps work with navman? Is there one version that suits all models? Can u purchase extra countries, USA for example. I couldn't find any help on this on the navman webiste.

What is coverage of Ireland like?
