|
|
hi got a new 1gb SD card from svp comunications (datawrite) trouble is i cant get it to work in the TT. The TT Go starts then just shows the SD card animation with a red X going through the card? ive copied my original card to it, but no joy, my original card still works perfect.
ive just got the MoWE so wanted to use the card for that but it wont boot up, what can i do?
It (the card) shows up and is able to copy to and from it in windows ok.
im stumped.........do you have to do anything special to a virgin card to get it to read it??

when you copied the card to the pc did you make sure to show hidden files in the properties of the sd card whe in the sd card reader _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

yes, its one of the first things i do whenever i install windows(show hidden and known file extentions).
i can format the card in windows but if i connect the TT via usb to the pc and try to format the card in the TT it starts then hangs and after a little while windows pops up a not able to complete format message! |

I had a very similar problem, it turned out that I was formatting the SD card as FAT32, using basic FAT solved the problem. |

instead of useing the tt it might be worth a try using an sd card reader _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Likewise, I had the same problem when I had my first 1GB card, the default setting in format was FAT32, again formatting as FAT solved the problem.
Check the setting before starting to format. _________________ (If it ain't broke, I can soon fix it) |

just installed new kingston 1g card formatted it to FAT32 xp default (it was FAT), lots of job to get it working, it just shut down after splash screen, got red cross also once. Solved finally by installing older version 1st then upgradin to 6.12. When is activation code needed? it didnt ask that. _________________ -----------------------

thx for the advise guys, ive tried formating with fat & fat32 both with no joy.i dont have any other device that uses this type of card so cant format any other way than on the PC.
ive gone and bought a sandisk 1gb card from ASDA and that seems to work perfect.
i guess the TT dont like datawrite SD cards, unless this one was faulty.
perhaps we could start a thread on confirmed working brand SD cards??
