TomTom Go 510/710/910 map redraws

Hi all

I just wanted to get some insight on how smooth the map movement is on these units....

I still have TT Navigator 3.07 for PDA which gives me a 1fps screen update/redraw which makes the map redraws seem very jerky, especially around roundabouts.....

I saw a TomTom Go ONE in action the other day and the screen was drawn very smoothly and it was very easy to follow the position of the car at all times, especially when turning..

Maybe a video of any of these models in action will help ?

due to the larger screen these units have a lower frame rate. I would estimate the older GO and One models to have 5 fps at their best, and the new x10 models about 3 fps.

Mind you, GPS data only comes once per second. Your jerkiness is actually the real thing. Everything else is just smoke and mirrors.

thats a bit of a shame really, nice to have the map move smoothly, even if it is just smoke and mirrors......
