I've no idea on that problem, but have you tried a reset?

First, a soft reset, then if no joy, a hard reset.

Try re-installing Service Pack 1.

As fair as I know Service Pack 1 was supposed to cure the "Assert Failure message"!

Try giving "Navman Technical" a call. I can only speak from my own experience, and they've been very helpfull.

Andy.

I have installed Service Pack 1 and I get the "Assert Failure Message" more often now than I did before. Navman Technical support haven't been much use they just keep telling me to reinstall the Service Pack.

I've seen the following elsewhere:-

You might also try formatting and reloading the storage card from the map CD it sounds like theres some corruption in the data.

The Navman advice that came back later was as follows:-
Dear Customer,

Thanks for the mail. Please ''Hard Reset'' the unit by the doing the following operation:

1. Turn on the ICN510 & remove the SD card

2. Switch off the unit from the back (OFF/ON).

3. Then switch it on from the back (ON/OFF)

4. Allow the ICN to bootup (start up).

5. Insert the SD card. It should work.
