Brand new Nuvi 360 doesn't get completely locked in the car cradle and falls out when the car is going even over a small hump. Has enybody else have this problem?

Never had a problem like that with mine. You should hear a slight click when putting it in the cradle to confirm that it's been put on correctly. Is the release button sticking in the 'release' position?

Nope - no click, nothing stuck. Garmin's support people were slightly surprised as well and a new cradle is on the way. I must say I'm impressed with their customer support.

Others have noted the same problem but I found you really had to push the Nuvi hard into the cradle for it to lock properly, so hard that you almost expected something would break.

Because of this I used to put the Nuvi in the cradle first before mounting it on the dashboard.

Hi

You do need to apply some pressure (the body of the nuvi might "creak" a bit) to get the full lock (clicking noise) but not so much as to feel its going to break, unless of course you have a faulty mount. My biggest problem at the moment with the mount is that it's always falling off the windscreen. Garmin have told me they are looking into a new design / material for the sucker. As you can imagine it's annoying and dangerous! Anyone had similar issues and managed to resolve them?

I agree with your comments regarding customer services, I have found Garmin to be polite and helpful but they are probably under-resourced and lack of info. from head office in the US.

Good luck with the new mount.

Nick

Seeing that I'm not alone, I decided to solve the problem in my usual brutal way by filing off two small ... err... I can't even find the word to describe them... buffers? stoppers? on the cradle. Now it clicks in and holds with no problems at all.

Hello.
I thought i had this problem on my nuvi 310 mount. but i found if i pulled the release button down wards it clicked and held in position and had to be remomoved by pushing back up.

Don`t know if this will help anyone but just thought i`d share it with you.

And I have it! Garmin get my vote for the excellent Customer Services - the cradle arrived this morning and fits well.

Garmin customer support must have improved in the last month. When I tried to contact them, the telephone was never answered and I still haven't received a reply to 2 emails that I sent a month ago - perhaps they are spending all their time sorting out rubbish mounts.

I have the same problem with mine after many attempts to secure it in i just removed the mounts, tried the dash mount again it was rubbish and didnt stay put.

now ive just removed the widescreen mount and the dash mount and place the nuvi 310 in my lap everytime i use it (abit tricky but what can i do as i place the nuvi normally on the drivers side widescreen which i thought might go flying out the window) .

i think if it had a mount that the garmin actually slides into that would be great, and also if the traffic receiver can work without the power of car adaptor.

my car is a mk4 golf.

thanks

Hi all, I have been reading about your problems with the nuvi mount and was wondering if this item would be of any use to you. I have used this company on ebay myself and found them to be ok.

If you check out the sellers site they have more on there. As you can see this mount has a different type of holder.

Personally I have never had any problems with the mount on my nuvi and have it mounted on a Brodit holder on the dash.

Regards....Dil

The microphone on the nuvi is in the bottom right hand corner ,just underneath the " garmin " logo. If you are refering to the bottom centre of the mount , that is just the nut to tighten it .

I ordered a new nuvi mount and holder from here, the original garmin type to use as a spare.

Regards....Dil
