|
|
Hi, I have managed to upload maps from cgpsmapper.com using both img2gps and M3 with Mapsource (thanks to tips from this forum). However, I can not see alternative maps to the installed City Navigator.
E.g http://mapcenter.cgpsmapper.com/getmap.php?id=725&type=bin, the UK coastline. When uploaded using Mapsource, it appears in "Map Info" but the coast is still that from City Navigator. I hope that his is not a case of RTFsomething. Any ideas?
Is there any UK Topo mapping that works on the Nuvi?
If Topo and routable road maps are loaded, for the same area, how can I switch between the two?
TIA. Regards

what happens if you switch off the pre-installed map and leave only the topo map? have you tried zooming in and out - the additional maps might only show at a certain zoom level. |

Turning the City Nav. map off reduces the detail in the roads to just M, A & B roads but I can't see much change in the detail of the coast. It does not look like the map seen using Mapsource. If I turn all maps off, in "Map Info", I still get the major road level maps.
Zooming in & out, I could not see the coast detail.
Maybe I need a different Topo map. Any ideas on a good one to try?
Something else I noticed: I loaded Vancouver, Canada from gpsmapper. In Mapsource all is ok but on the Nuvi, most roads are labelled like "B........." for "Barnet Highway". Clicking on the road shows its full name on the Nuvi. It's not a routable map, but neither is the Hawaii one that I tried and was ok.

Sorry - you lost me there. Which one are you using - Mapsource or Nuvi? |

My descriptions of detail refer to the Nuvi view. I was only using Mapsource to see what detail is in the uploaded map. |
