I have just received my new Quest 1 and seem to be having some trouble transferring maps with MapSource,
I'm using XP, Quest software V3.9, City Nav Europe V8, Mapsource 6.9.1 ,USB Drivers grmnusb.sys 2.1.0.0
My problem is, that when I transfer maps to the quest it normally does one of two things..
1/ Goes through download routine and finishes normally, my Quest restarts and and immediately comes up with the error message 'Detail Maps Dont Support Routing' The Quest then shows very minimal detail, just name of towns no street info. (detail set to 'normal' in settings).
If I receive from device afterwards it says I have what I downloaded into it.
2/ Goes almost to the end of the transfer process 99% and come up with an error saying it has lost contact with the device, make sure it's switch on. (on mains power) Quest then has error message 'Detail Maps Dont Support Routing' ,agan, no detail on maps.
Thanks for the input strumble, I have subsequently found out what my problem was with invaluable help from the people I bought my unit from.
My problem was that my maps weren't unlocked properly to my Quest, I could use the maps in Mapsource on the PC but the Quest wasn't uploading them properly as the maps weren't unlocked to it. The reason was that Mapsource software couldn't see my Quest because there was a conflict with my CF card reader plugged into the same USB hub as my Quest. I unplugged the card reader and the maps unlocked properly to the Quest and everything is now OK :-)
