I've just bought a new Dell Axim X51v PDA with a VGA display which is excellent. Smile

Navigon 5.2 runs perfectly with all the maps displayed in VGA mode at 640x480 resolution. Smile

This makes the all the map details very small and difficult to read. Sad

Is there any way to force it to run in QVGA mode at 320x240 resolution ? Confused

Regards

Roger

yes, you can edit the program with a resource editor and remove the HI_DPI_AWARE resource.

Thanks for the info.

I'll give it a try using Resource Hacker and let you know if it was successful.

I used Resource Hacker to remove the HI_DPI_AWARE resource and replaced the program file on the PDA but received this error message when attempting to start MN52:

Quote:
The file 'Mobile Navigator' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore ths file.

Replacing the original program file restored everything back to normal so I hadn't accidently removed any other files.

Any ideas ?

Regards

Roger

This would mean they do a hard coded dpi check. Not the most standard conformant way to write software. Well, you seem to be outta luck then.

Thanks for the help.

At least it's still useable and otherwise runs fine.

I'll just have to squint a bit. Smile
