I have a Etrex Vista which is out of warranty and has developed an odd fault.
There appears to be a weak contact to the screen, in that occasionally the screen will dissolve into unreadable horizontal lines. A delicate flick on the screen with my finger will usually restore it.
Before I pack it off for a repair, I'd like to just check it's not something obvious inside and wondered if anyone has ever opened up a Etrex or knows of a helpful link?
Cheers
Dave

I haven't, but I would pack it off to Garmin. Garmin's after sales and out of warranty support is very good, and I've received a number of reports with out of warranty products being repaired for free.

Thanks Dave, I will probably pack it off to Romsey and throw myself at their mercy, as I can't see an obvious way of splitting the case.

Well, having thrown myself at the mercy of Garmin UK, I packed my sick Etrex off to them and this morning, a week later, it returned.
Not repaired, but replaced!! Brand new shiny Etrex!
Thankyou Garmin! Top blokes! Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
