Tried Tom Tom for the first time today

Hi i tried TomTom for the first time today.

the problem is when i went of route. (knew a better way)

it kept saying turn left turn right. when there was none there. And also it suggested two risky u turn places.

After a while staying on the road it did recalculate the correct route.

However i do have a incar navigation system built in a Clarion with eh latest teleatlas disk 2003.

Know it does perform much better than TomTom what it does it would wait till you come to a roundabout before trying to send you back or take you down some other streets. It would not tell you to do U Turn on a main road.

Is this a problem with the software.

Also noticed that Tomtom only gives you 200 yards notice before a turn

With the Clarion system it says in 600 yards turn left, than in 300 yards turn left and just before it says turn left.

I wonder weather Tom Tom will be able to implement this in their next change.

The other problem with TomTom which needs sorting is the places. I'm in Welling and it says Welling (Isle of Down)

which it is not i believe teleatlas does both software for both platforms. However the errors are not there on the Clarion so i assume the people at TomTom need to do some more hard work.

The great thing i like about tomtom is you can do overlays which allows for the speed cameras.
