Custom POI Icons Overwrite Built In?

Hi,
I was under the impression that overwriting the POIs with Mafis database would overwrite all POIs and corresponding icons.
I have a new C310 and have added the custom database, but when I browse the map, the old Garmin icons appear for some of the POIs like train stations, tube stations and petrol stations.
When I select these POIs from the custom POI menu, the updated icons appear.
It looks like the built in icons are still there and over-riding the custom icons when browsing the map.
Does anyone else have this and is there a way to only have the custom icons appear?

If it's the same as the i3 the Garmin POIs remain whatever you do. Only your custom POIs are overwritten on each upload.
