Hi all
Have been using TT5 on a acer N35 now for 9 months all ok.
However the last 2 day have been rather dismal,in as much i get maybe 5/6 sattellites climbing maybe 60% up the (graph bar)but never quite making it further,ie changing to blue.
Could it be just lousy atmospherics?.do they or can they lower signal, but why do that.
Hence no use at all
Dont know what to try next, any ideas?
cheers

Quiet possibly just the atmosphere. They can't lower the signal strength (well, maybe they can, but they don't).
Have you moved the position of the antenna at all? |

Hi all back again!
Have reloaded both TT5 and D3,on both programs each aquires the same number of sattellites,on TT5 the yellow/blue indicator (spins) as usual, and with D3 their idea does the same.
Imm almost tempted to aquire an external antenna, and give that try, very strange this, never had no fix before that last 3 days!
Maybe the flip antenna on the Acer N35 hasnt the reception qualities of other PDA`s
Cheers

Cracked it!
I got hold of an external aerial, and must admit i cant beleive the difference,
Having only been used to the reception of the acer`s flip antenna.I am now getting off the scale readings on all available sattellites.

Where did you get it from?
I'm having the same trouble with my Acer N35. I've looked around, and I think I'm right that the N35 uses an MMCX connection, but every external MMCX antena I've seen looks as if the connection is the wrong size/shape to fit the N35 (although that could be my eyesight ) |

Hi there
Got it off ebay, have just looked they have the mmcx type for around £7.95 +pp etc.
Its still working fine,i had the 2 mtr lead version, which lets the aerial sit just to the front of the rail on my alhambra, and ive tucked the cable within the rubber door strip, looks good.
Reception is amasing,
Im thinking of adapting the acer for my harley making some sort of housing etc
cheers

Thanks mate. I can't believe the differences in price between ebay and some of the online stores. I expected them to be a little cheaper, but they're nearly a third of the price.
Bit odd this one, but I downloaded this : http://www.visualgps.net/VisualGPSce/ I ran it and it instantly locked onto 8 or 9 satelites, whereas before I was struggling with three on Tomtom. I switched it off, and then ran Tomtom, and now Tomtom is locking satelites with no trouble at all 8) |
