I am thinking of getting a Tomtom in the next week or so but I am not sure which is the best to go for the 300 or the 500.I never would be going abroad so it would just be for the UK,but for some reason I have noticed the price is not that much different between the two?

Regards,

Make sure you look at the TomTom "One" as well - newer satallite chipset, much better reception, also smaller and lighter.
Then the whole new range is due in the next few weeks....

If you are going to use the Tom Tom with your mobile phgone so it acts as a Handsfree kit then go for the 500 however if you do not need this function I would seriuosly look at the Tom Tom One.

I used a TT300 supplied from work, and now I have my own TT-One and this is a clear winner.
Much quicker to lock on, much faster "Back on Track" calculations, and full 7 digit postcode which the 300 didn't .... probably out of date.

Most of all not only is it far quicker, it fits in my pocket in the garage when I'm paying for fuel.

And just for the UK only?? Then you'll be clearly wasting your cash on anything other than the One.

Says a very happy TT-One owner and ex-TT300 user (Stolen)

The 300 has always had the full 7 Digit Postcode facility, but in every other respect, you're right.Smile

Thinking back I think I was trying to put the 7 digit postcode in the Navigate to/address on the works TT300. But since reading the actual instruction for my "Own" TT-One I've since learnt that that will never work, have to use the "Postcode Icon" Rolling Eyes
