Same here, but it's only the UK segment with the cross border bits of northern France that are loaded.

My Garmin 3i worked fine in france 2 weeks ago, as far as i can make out it has a good bit of northern France in it!

I used the i3 to navigate to my favourite points whilst in Spain (using a map card though). I created my own POI using Multimap.com to get the lat/long and then simply transferred these to my i3 using the Garmin gStart software. It worked really well although the POI may be 20-50M from where they actually are - not really that big a deal. You can also name all the POI that you create so that they are easy to look up.
