I have TomTom Mobile 5 with Nokia N70. I have downloaded swedish speed camera information and set it to warn me with a sound when the camera is within 300 meters.
When I drive towards and past a speed camera I see the icon on the screen, but the warning sound doesn't go off at all. Anyone else experienced this? What might be the problem? (the sound isn't turned off and no headset is installed)

Yes, I have. I have a loudspeaker icon in front of the icon which represents the camera. Also, it asks me if I want to remove the alarm when I choose any of the loudspeaker-indicated camera POIs.
I have checked this many times, but I must be missing something anyway.

Have you left Unticked the Option to Only Warn When on Route?

Did you Test the Warning (and hear it) when setting up Warn When Near? I'm presuming that you can hear Route Directions OK.

I have that option checked.

Yes, I can test and hear the warning sound when I choose it.
I hear the route directions OK otherwise.

I realize it's difficult to help "by remote" like this, but I have no idea why it doesn't work. Because it really should, doesn't it?

I tried that yesterday, and it worked! :D
I felt so sure that it had to be ticked so that it wouldn't warn me when I pass a camera which registers traffic for instance on the other side of the road or on a crossing road.
But your previous reply made me wonder if it shouldn't be ticked after all. So I tried it. Thank you for your help! Problem solved and case closed. Wink
