operating system for transonic/ medion

I think that I have killed my transonic md95255 (it looks exactly the same as the medion 95900) I have been messing around with the operating system to open it up as a PDA but its stopped working.stupid me I have not made a back up copy of the operating system. The question is can I reformat the internal memory? then reinstall the operating system. If i take a copy of my friends Medion md 95900 operating system copy it to my PC and then using activesync copy it to my transonic. or can any one tell me any other way of doing this?

Do you try a hard-reset ? i don't think it's possible to loose operating system because it is in ROM.
