Hi,
I have backed up my Go 500 files (original SD Card) on my computer and i have a a spare kingston 256mb sd card which was working loveley before i deleated some files by accident and i formatted it in a card reader on my pc (FAT).
Tom Tom software will not let me do a back up with there software from files on pc, so i have tried copy and paste and drop and dragging my original back files back on to my 256mb sd card, but every time i put it into my tom tom the yellow bar does not go accross and all i get is a picture of the sd card with a red cross appearing through it.
Any Ideas?.....or any other formating ideas?
Do you think the card has become corrupt?
BTW Capacity of card is showing 244.98 in my card reader.
Cheers Andy |

Hi Andy-
Did you format it with fat & not fat 32 by any chance? Fat 32 is the correct format. _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver

Have you tried Formatting it while it's in the 500?
It should Reset when disconnected from the PC, but doesn't always work. Try the Pin Hole Reset. _________________ Richard

There does seem to be an ongoing problem with formatting SD cards.
I recently tried to re-format my original card in a card reader, and it consistently crashed the whole (normally very stable) PC.
The same card in the Go on a different PC seemed to format ok, but didn't work.
Finally using the original card reader with the second PC formatted fine (FAT 32). |
