MioMap v2 on Mio A701 - How do I install Speed Camera's?

Sorry if this is posted elsewhere. I've searched and searched but can't find an answer.

How do I install the Speed Camera Database on my sparkly new A701? My MioMap v2 cd arrived today, but for the life of me I don't know how to install the speed camera's.

Please help.

Hi Gazbert,

Ive managed to get the speed camera database working with Miomap V2 on my A701. Here is a quick pointer to help you along.

I installed POI-Warner for Mio Map from www.navigating.de. Unforunately you have to pay for this but it seems to work well and isnt much. Once you have installed this you then download the speed camera database from this site. When picking devices choose 'Other' and then download the ascii file of your choice. Make sure its ascii and ends in .asc. You should also have one or more bitmap files .bmp (these are the icons that will be shown over the map). Put all of these files in the following location on your Mio.

\My Pocket PC\Program Files\POIWarner MN4-Edition\pois

When you next start mio map or poi warner you should be able to turn on the speed camera warnings and it should all work nicely. Below is a link to a guide on how to do all of this from scratch should you need to. It also has some sound files for use as warnings and a neat plugin to make the motoways blue on the map.

Fantastic. Just what I needed. I have actually just discovered POI Warner, but navigating.de said it only supported the Mio 268 & 269. I emailed them to ask when they'd support the A701 and as you've discovered, they already do.

Will be trying it out tonight.
