I wanted to back up the contents of my Transflash cardon my i3 . This was just in case I had a currupt POI file and wanted to delete it and to make sure I didn't loose my V8 map.

I found this on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-SANDISK-TRANSFLASH-ADAPTER-SD-MEMORY-CARD-32-mb_W0QQitemZ9118376570QQcategoryZ98876QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This will allow you to read the contents of the card with any SD card reader.

I hope this may be of use to someone.

P.s to also have a 32mb card to play around with. Not much use for maps but may be of use for general backup etc

I placed my order and got it the next day

Strange add, yellow box states:

Quote:
Shipping AND Handling - Fixed charges:
United Kingdom - £1.49

But postage costs state £2.99

£0.99 seems very very cheap for the product a well.

Seems to good to be true. (just my personal view).

The card supplied with the i3 is 256mb (well mine was anyway)

I'm not sure how much of this is used but imagine its contents may not fit on one of these 32mb cards.

you put the i3 card into the sd adaptor then download the data to your pc as a backup...please note the 'saved' data can only be loaded back to its original card..

Does this mean we cannot back up the data and restore it to a larger card? My i3 stopped working when I downloaded the poi's and speed cameras onto it.

I had hoped to be able to use a larger card to avoid the screen freezing again.

No, but you could send your backup to the original card to get you working again, or possible delete your POI file off the card
