Hands Free Faulty????

I have just bought a TOM TOM 500

I firstly went to the official tom tom website to get any updates etc. and I downloaded them and installed them.

Obviously I got the pocket GPS camera POI installed and that is all I have done.

My hands free worked for the first two weeks, but now when I dail a number, It connects to the other person, but I cannot hear or speak to them.

It occasionally works but more often than not, it doesn't.

If I take it out of the cradle it often works, (but no mic as it is in the cradel)

Do I have a faulty cradle? Does anyone else have the same problem?
