I think I have most of my problems sorted thanks to you all but I still have the original intermitent problem of sometimes the GO reverts to the map screen after clicking on the camera icon, and yes this is with a full sat fix. I think it was Richard who suggested it might be that it might somehow be dumping the memory at some stage but has anyone had the same problem and fixed it ??

Only me I reckon Woodchip!
I have used mine for a week now, didn't find too many new cameras, but I did have the Go switching On and Off about 4- 6 times a day, and I kept testing the POI Capture Icon still worked. And it did, and still does, however, I am convinced it is the connecting it to my PC that is "doing somethng weird" because as soon as I have disconnected it, I can gaurantee 100% it doesn't work and needs re-installing.
I am going to give V5.440 a test run to see what that brings about.
Let me know if you find a resolve, or narrow down when yours is going wrong?! _________________ Steve

Welcome home Steve, I have had about the same week as you as far as GO is concerned mine has been on and off without connecting to the comp.and has behaved impeccably, icon working and not reverting to the map page but it seems that as soon as I do something with the comp. connected it misbehaves but it doesn't completely crash like yours, I just have to delete the camera capture file completely and do a first fix again and then it is ok untill next time, I think I can live with that !! You will always have to do a 'first fix' because the program is designed to be Memory Resident. The 'first fix' puts it into memory where it sits ready for use.
This will happen everytime you do a Reset. Connecting to the PC is the same as doing a Pin-in-the-Hole Reset.
Something I do on my Classic is, when I copy the OV2 to the PC, I replace the one in Map Folder with an Empty PocketGPSCamera.ov2 which I keep handy on my PC.
It works for me and I only have to do a 'first fix'. _________________ Richard

I guess you guys are lucky then, cos as soon as mines had a sniff on the computer, thats it, system down!! No first fix, nothing!!
I have to reconnect it, delete the original POI Capture folders, unzip the programme to the root directory, stick the "ini" file stored on my PC in the POI Capture Folder (for some reason, mine is missing when I unzip the file), then replace my copy of TomTom.mnu into the SDK Registry folder.
Disconnect, and away I go.... sometimes it works first time, sometimes it doesn't... and I have to satrt over again! Annoying, but it kinda works. _________________ Steve

Quick Update on this folks,
If I use my Work PC to connect my Go to, it seems that it works ok and POICapture loads fine, so I can only assume that it is an issue with my PC at home... anyone got any ideas what this could be??? _________________ Steve
