my 1 Gb SD card with tomtom 5 maps (and work data) has stopped working. The last significant thing I remember was noticing that a backup from the PDA to the card had failed. The next time I used TomTom the card couldnt be read. Any ideas please? I would like to recover data and the hardware if poss but even being able to use the card again would be something.

Thanks

Steve

Have you tried reading the card in a separate card reader? This may give you a chance to recover the data. Then you may be able to re-format the card.

Also, have you checked that the lock on the card has not been switched on accidentally?

Cant you back up the card from a previous backup.....that is presuming that you have been doing them?

Thanks for your suggestion.
Yes, I have backups of my Ipaq and Qtek 2020i on my PC and the original Tomtom CDs so I can re - install onto a new card. Unfortunatley both my PDAs will not even acknowledge the card is inserted - let alone re-format it!
