New to all this but as mentioned in my previous post I am off to europe in June and wondered is it possible to load GARMIN MAPSOURCE PROGRAMME AND CITY NAVIGATOR 8 into a pocket pc such as the DELL AXIM and then when I want to upload a mapset to my Quest whislt away I could load whatever maps I wanted from the DELL into my Quest. I dont want to take a laptop and I am travelling ALL over Europe so my Quest wont hold all the mapsets I require. Thanks for any help. |

No, or at least not yet. I asked Garmin about this possibility probably three years ago and there were no plans to make such an application. Mind you, there were also no plans to make a PPC navigation application either, but they finally released one.
Everyone that wants this, lobbly Garmin. _________________ Tim |

Thanks for the speedy reply, I take it then that I will just have to load what I can from CN8 and then rely on the base map for the other areas or is there another way of getting round this problem, eg. extremley small laptop etc. |

You could take a very small laptop. It would have the added advantage that you could pre plan your next day's route before you set off and upload it into the GPS. Sometimes the route the GPS chooses isn't the scenic route you would like to take so that's where planning it on a PC comes into it's own. Much easier than on the GPS. _________________ Gone fishing! |
