Adapt Mobile are a Taiwanese Manufacturer of PDA and GPS products. They have just released a new SiRFStar III based GPS receiver called the AD-700.

A large number of companies have high sensitivity GPS solutions based around the SiRFStar III chipset. It remains to be seen how the Adapt Mobile receiver will perform.

We will be requesting a sample for review in the near future...

Adapt Mobile was the first company in the world to introduce Nemerix chipset based GPS receivers. The Adapt AD-300 and AD-500 GPS receiver stand out as the ones with the best price/performance in the market. Especially the battery lifetime of over 30 hours for the AD-300 was not seen before and set a new standard. Now Adapt introduces the first Sirf III based GPS receiver AD-700.

The new AD-700 is Adapts fourth generation GPS receiver and the first one to use a high performance 20 channel Sirf III based chipset. The AD-700 uses a high performance Li-ion battery with a guaranteed running time of 16 hours. The AD-700 also possesses an advanced “auto off” function, if the Bluetooth connection is not used for some time it will automatically shut down the power. This feature will further extend the lifetime of the battery. Adapt supplies the GPS receiver in a nice retail box with AC and car charger. It also includes a product CD with manuals in English, French, German and Spanish language. The quality of the Adapt AD-700 is backed up by a full 2 years end-user warranty. The Adapt AD-700 sells at a suggested retail price of EUR 99,00 (excl. VAT).
