|
|
Not sure if I'm being stupid, but got my i3 today and have tried to add the Garmin POI Loader and the Updater - the Updater has installed OK but when I run the screen says it is waiting for me to hit 'Next' to choose a device - but there are nop buttons to press - the same with the POI Loader the splash screen loads OK but nothing else - have tried running it then hooking the i3 up and also with it hooked up before running - both to no avail - any help welcome
thanks |

This has suddenly happened to me once, where the POI Loader doesn't recognise the i3 is plugged in.
1) Try a different USB port.
2) Plug the i3 in, right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager. Scroll down to find the i3, right click it and select Uninstall. The i3 will disappear from the Device Manager. Unplug the i3, count to 5 and plug back in. It should reinstall the drivers. Now try POI Loader. |

I have found that I sometimes need to do a restart of my PC before it will "see" my i3.
Worth a try.
Nick. |

Have tried that also thanks - I have gone through hardware manager and the system has recognised presence of my i3 - this is quite weird
Have deleted and re-installed all software and drivers - have managed to update firmware to the latest release, so my PC an definitely communicate with the i3, so really quite a mystery |

This is weird! - Have sussed it
Rather unusually I have my Windows taskbar at the top of my screen - when you launch either the Update or POI software when the bar is at the top, the menu options don't appear - moved the bar to the bottom and it worked first time!
Never seen that in the last 10 years of Windows!
