Are you sure your service provider O2 will support GPRS over pay as you go type tarrifs? - these are only avail via monthly contract as far as I know - Mike

Bill, is the service you mention the O2 active WAP. this is somewhat different to the full GPRS connection (which is what you correctly identified, as to be what you need), for example is it possible to view this site from your mobile phone? or can you only view selected O2 provided information? - Mike

Try putting this into the URL address bar on your phone to prove that it is working correctly http://www.pocketgpsworld.com WAP enabled phones are somewhat different to the service you require - if it does work then I will be interested, as pay as you go generaly does not have GPRS conectivity - Mike

there is a difference between full and wap gprs ( ill try and get mike a to let you know the difference as hes more techincly minded than me) i've heard forum members say orange and vodaphone do full gprs for pay as you go also have you considered a t mobile contract on ufix might be worth a look

Hi Bill11

Unless things have changed, and I would be happy if they have, O2 don't offer "full" GPRS on pay as you go I have O2 PAYG and this is what they have told me several times I have asked. I do use Traffic but to do this a have a twin sim card in my phone and the second sim is vodafone payg so when I need the plus service I switch to me second sim. This might not be a solution suitable to you and you might wish to switch networks. If O2 have now decide to offer "full" GPRS I will be more than happy.

Hi, I have been using Oran ge Pay as you go for around 14 months. It wotks perfectly well with Traffic. And as a bonus of you have £4 of Orange World you actually get £16 worth of GPRS connection.

My only complaint is that TomTom have removed the MONTHLY subscription to Traffic!!. I only use traffic around 4 months of the year, so to be able to havea months subscriptions was handy
I have now had to buy a years subscription (all running on ORANGE)

Well folks quick up date ordered a £20 Vodafone SIM but can not get a clear answer from them on GPRS charges or if their 4 MB is allowance for Month 2 of their staff stated it was for 4 MB or part off? Orange may be best seem to do 2 MB for £4 a Month That is up to 2 MB in a one month period

Thanks again for your help
